3. Experience the university

Without a doubt, the most famous university building of Leuven is the University Library. Discover its turbulent history during a guided tour or on your own using the Heritage App. During the tour, you’ll not only visit the main library, but also the carillon tower. Even if it rains, it is well worth climbing the 250 steps of the bell tower to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. Want to visit more university buildings? Join a KU Leuven heritage tour on Saturday or Sunday morning.
