Leuven by bloggers
Travellers unfamiliar with the city and Leuven locals set off together to discover the hidden gem that is Leuven. It’s a city that is a surprising and new destination for many.
Dutch cycling enthusiast Japke Janneke(link is external) went on an adventure with local Leuven sports enthusiast Els Talloen(link is external). Together, they cycled past hidden gems like Abdij van Park, a green oasis of tranquility on the edge of the city. You probably knew that Germans love beer, but Jonas Anders Moll(link is external) was still surprised on the beer front by Leuven brewer Bart from brewery De Coureur(link is external). Ine, Bart's partner and 'hoplady' at De Coureur, showed Eke Bosman(link is external) around town. Eke went on a snack and beer adventure with her.
Alexis Thiebaut(link is external) took the train from Paris to Leuven (did you know it's only 2,5 hours by train from Paris?) to explore the city with local Thijs(link is external), musician and beer fanatic. Alexis was charmed by tasty beers, beautiful architecture and lovely people. For Dutch Lisa Stel(link is external), moving around a city consciously is important. She discovered green and sustainable spots in Leuven thanks to tips from Hanne, a Leuven local and the Hal 5 project coordinator. Nawal Bonnefoy(link is external) from France fell in love with local producers, second-hand stores and vegetarian and vegan cuisine in Leuven.
