Take a romp through fun stories

Do you find walking boring? You wont in Leuven! A number of fun routes were created especially keeping the youngest visitors in mind. Choose a walk tailor-made for your children (4-14 years) and discover the most beautiful spots in the city. Do your children love captivating stories? The audio walks provide an immersive adventure in which your kids will eagerly look forward to hearing the sequel. So don't forget to bring your walking shoes along!

Art tailor-made for children

Children don’t usually look forward to museum visits with enthusiasm. Totally false! Leuven's museums offer plenty of activities for the youngest visitors. At the M Leuven museum and St Peter's Church, you will not be strolling from one work of art to the next in a bored fashion. Ever visited a church with a Hololens in front of your eyes? Family iteneraries and activities make the museum visit a fun family outing.

Norrie the abbey mouse will take your children (aged 6-10) on a tour of some mouse houses at Park Abbey. Your children will get to know Belgium's best-preserved abbey site through a variety of ‘look and do’ tasks. Older children can take the interactive audio tour ‘Bert tells’.

Climbing and scrambling

Need to work off some energy? Your kids are sure to have a blast in the many playgrounds in and around Leuven. The Provinciedomein in Kessel-Lo is the ideal location to spend an afternoon romping around: your children will hop from one playground to the next. But the city centre itself offers a number of playgrounds too. Splashing in Sluispark, sliding in Park Belle-Vue or dangling from branches in Bruulpark? There are plenty to choose from! In rainy weather, you can then visit the FunOase indoor playground or the children's climbing hall of the Stordeur - well worth exploring!

Eat till you burst

Leuven is a Walhalla for foodies and the extensive range of offerings also includes a number of restaurants in which your kids will feel right at home. You can always order fries of course, but there are many other options to choose from. Would you like the classic kitchen or would you like it to be a bit more playful? Would you prefer to stay in the city centre or should we take you to a unique location right behind the station? Let the blog inspire you with dining destinations for families with (young) kids.

So you have feasted your eyes, played till you drop, and filled your tummy?

Time for bed then. Discover the best family hotels and plan your weekend in Leuven right away!
